No plans. This has been an issue for years. The Town refuses to do anything because there is a very rare eel grass that grows there and is an importnat food for some bird species.

Does anyone have any idea if there are plans to clean up Higbie Creek? Its a mess. Once you get up to Thixton St., there's nothing but backwash of boat motor discharge and nastiness from Hewlett Bay. The creek is also overrun with weeds and bugs and the town almost never comes up that way to clean it up. Its really a shame since its a natural waterway.

Whoever thought that they could go on the property of two neighbors and steal all of their fishing poles are really LOW CLASS. I’m sure it was not a Bay Parker, as being a fishing and boating community we know the monetary and personal value one puts on their livelihood and/or their great hobby. We respect each other’s property and all of their belongings.

So, to this LOW CLASS individual(s)—hopefully you’ll go fishing in the vast, beautiful (but sometimes dangerous) ocean with one of the stolen poles and you hook a great big fish and in your excitement and dream-come-true moment as you try to reel it into your boat and, YES, it pulls YOU overboard!

Maybe then you’ll learn the valuable lesson and age old law “Thou Shalt Not Steal.”
